Internet is the new marketing hotspot and too many companies are aware of it. Social media networks such as Facebook and MySpace offer the perfect marketing place for advertisers that want to target a young audience.
There are, however, concerns on whether the advertising techniques are not violating privacy rules with their marketing campaigns. Not surprising, because Facebook users are being displayed to advertisers all the time. In addition, Facebook makes many private details publicly available, or at least available for marketing purposes. The discussion is now heating up, as some Facebook users have fromed an Action Group to stop this violation of privacy rights. MoveOn has gathered many signatures and votes to abandon the loose privacy ethics within Facebook.
